ARCHAEOLOGICAL APERITIF - city tour

DESCRIPTION

The Archaeological Aperitif takes place at the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the largest temple in the Roman Forum. The cella of the temple has been transformed into a Baroque church, with marvelous paintings by Domenichino and Pietro da Cortona...and there's also a unique view of the Forum, a medieval library with handwritten manuscripts from the 1500s, and a spice museum!

We start with a guided tour! We will discover the story of an imperial love, that between Antoninus and his Faustina. We will enjoy an exclusive view of the Forums and the marvelous paintings by Baroque masters.

Finally...the Archaeological Aperitif! Inside the Temple, we will discover the favorite foods of the emperors and taste the citron wine. The recipes have been reconstructed through experimental archaeology and deliciously prepared by the chef!
